How do I create a print card?
- Once you have created your CAD Drawing in Pkg, open Corel Draw.
- Click on FILE
- Select IMPORT
- Import your Drawing
- Decorate your drawing as desired
- Click FILE
- Select EXPORT
- Name the file and place it in a directory
- In Pkg, select the appropriate record
- Select the picture tab
- Click the Import button
- Select the file you decorated
- The file will appear(with decoration) in the window.
- Click SAVE
- Click REPORTS at the top menu bar
- Select Picture Titleblock
- Your report (print card) will be produced.
- To print, click on the printer icon.
I added dimensions to a drawing in AutoCAD, but they are not coming through in Pkg. What can I do to fix this?
- You first need to explode your drawing before you DXFOUT the drawing, this will enable you to see the dimensions of the drawing when you import it into Pkg. If you are using AutoCAD, select all objects then type EXPLODE on the command line, then type DXFOUT. You can then name and place the file.
What is the most current version of Pkg available?
- Pkg 3.0 is the most current, though we will be featuring Pkg 3.2 at the WestPack Expo in Anaheim, CA. on Sept. 23-25th 1997. Come and check out the new features of the software dubbed "The Ultimate in Package Design"
Where can I get a Pkg Installation code?
- To obtain a Pkg Installation code please write down the "Key Number" or "Source Code" and contact our main office in San Jose to receive it. (408-456-6754) Each code is unique to each computer.
Where do I find my Authentication Code to complete my install?
- A customer service representative can assist you. Simply have the key
number available and dial (408)456-6754. For clients outside the US,
dial the appropriate country code before dialing the number. Then,
provide the customer service rep. with the key number and they will
in turn provide you with the correct code. Please note that the code
is unique to the computer and not the CD-ROM, so if you would like to
install the program onto another computer, you will have to call our
office and obtain an additional code. You may have an unlimited amount
of installs of Pkg at no charge. There is only a charge for
full access of Pkg (with a hardware Lock).
Hardware Lock Issues
Can't initialize hardware lock on Windows NT
- NT parallel port drivers need to be installed. They are found
on the PKG 3.0 CD. From Windows Explorer, find the "pkg30/key/drivers/win_nt"
folder. You must run the install program that is appropriate for
your machine. If you are using an Intel/Cyrix/AMD based CPU, then
you should run the file "setupx86.exe".
How do I....?
How do I print my drawing once I create my package design?
- Once you have created your package design, you will be given the option
of saving it or cancelling it. In your drawing viewer (located in the
lower left third of the screen, your current drawing will appear, in
that window, you may click the Printer Icon and it will automatically
intiate your printing sequence. And thats it!
How to start a new database in Pkg?
- In Pkg, the Pkg database file is named: Pkgdata.mdb. The Program will
recognize only 1 database file named Pkgdata.mdb located in the pkg directory. So, to activate a new Pkgdata.mdb (ie. a new database) simply rename the current Pkgdata.mdb file to Pkgdata2.mdb and name your new file: Pkgdata.mdb. You will then have your new database file. From there, you can delete any and/or all records current on your new database and start fresh.

How do I get started installing the Pkg program on my computer using Windows 95 Operating System?
Once you have obtained the CD-Rom and installed it into your
CD-Rom Drive, you are ready to get started.
1. Click on Start Button (Located in the lower left corner)
2. Click RUN
3. Browse to the CD-Rom Drive
4. Click on Autorun.exe
5. Click on INSTALL Pkg 3.0
6. Follow on-screen instructions
